"Stranger Things season 4’s “Creel House” teaser introduces viewers to the title location, where some disturbing events happened in the 1950s when a family of four moved in. Cutting to the present day (within the Stranger Things timeline, that is), Dustin, Lucas, Max, Steve, and Robin break into Creel House searching for clues for something yet unknown, and the teaser ends with a shot of a grandfather clock in the attic, which then appears in the Upside Down version of the house, with the glass breaking at the end."
Victor Creel is portrayed by ROBERT ENGLUND!

In 17th century England, the children of a village slowly convert into a coven of devil worshipers.
IMDb
The Blood on Satan’s Claw is frequently mentioned alongside Witchfinder General (1968) and The Wicker Man (1973) as a seminal film in the folk horror subgenre. Daphne describes it as super 70s and she loved the creepiness of the woods and the environment. The film’s amazing title captured Bill’s attention but unfortunately, his first viewing of The Blood on Satan’s Claw was a version in which an essential scene had been cut. Having since seen the complete version, he believes it to be an interesting film worth seeking out. For Chad, The Blood on Satan’s Claw had some unique ideas, in particular how the demon was reconstructed. Jeff found The Blood on Satan’s Claw to be quirky and the story to be a bit uneven but he thought the effects were excellent, especially when some devil’s skin was removed from one of the characters. Doc finds The Blood on Satan’s Claw to be very disjointed, making it hard to tell the protagonist from the antagonist and to stay interested.
Whether you’re a fan or not, you owe it to yourself to check out The Blood on Satan’s Claw. As of this writing, it is available to stream on Shudder and will be available on physical media as a part of ALL THE HAUNTS BE OURS: A COMPENDIUM OF FOLK HORROR [BLU-RAY BOX SET] due from Severin Films in December 2021.

Boris Karloff hosts a trio of horror stories concerning a stalked call girl, a vampire-like monster who preys on his family, and a nurse who is haunted by her ring's rightful owner.
IMDb
Black Sabbath is a big hit with Whitney and her nephew, who realizes immediately that the woman getting the threatening telephone calls in “The Telephone” needed to get the heck out of there! Daphne had always watched the Italian version of Black Sabbath in the past so she loved hearing Karloff’s voice in the US release, and the more she learns about Bava, the more she appreciates the film. When Bill, DoH’s resident Bava-head, first saw Black Sabbath’s trick ending, it made him wonder what else wasn’t what he thought he was seeing. Jeff wishes that all the things he loves about Black Sabbath were combined in one version instead of being split between the Italian and US versions. Even so, he describes it as an amazing and beautiful film.
If you haven’t seen Black Sabbath in a while, the Classic Era Grue Crew thinks you owe it to yourself to catch it again. The film is currently available to stream on Shudder and on physical media as separate Blu-rays for the Italian or US versions from Kino Lorber.

A solitary and strange preteen boy wreaks revenge on his harassers when he makes a disturbing discovery in the depth of a forest.
IMDb
Crystal is a big Frank Henenlotter fan so it’s no surprise that Basket Case is her pick and she still loves it, calling it super weird and super messed up. She also recommends the Joe Bob Briggs treatment, currently available on Shudder. Chad rented Basket Case as a VHS tape and he fell in love with it. He appreciates the way Henenlotter brings the oddest concepts to life and is able to mix just the right amount of comedy with horror. Back in the day, Bill used to hang out in Glens Falls, NY, one of the filming locations for Basket Case. Not surprisingly, the scene depicting “the boys” aunt reading to them while they sit in her lap always gets to him. Jeff is most impressed by the special effects found in Basket Case and all for a budget of $35,000.
Basket Case is currently available to stream on Shudder on a Blu-ray disc form Arrow Video.

The sole survivor of an interplanetary rescue mission searches for the only survivor of the previous expedition. He discovers a planet ruled by apes and an underground city run by telepathic humans.
IMDb
This one is Doc’s pick. Surprise! As you probably know, he’s a huge Planet of the Apes fan with all the gear and memorabilia to prove it. Having said that, Beneath the Planet of the Apes is not one of his franchise favorites, especially because Roddy McDowell isn’t in it. Even though Jeff loves Planet of the Apes (1968), he didn’t care for Beneath the Planet of the Apes, especially the “beneath” parts. On the other hand, Bill loved the pulpiness of the “beneath” parts but didn’t care as much for the setup. Chad is also a huge Planet of the Apes fan but he has no affection for Beneath the Planet of the Apes. He is turned off by some of the ape effects, cheapened by budget cuts, and the film completely lost him when it went to mutants living underground. The 70s Grue Crew also waxes nostalgic about family-watching in the pre-cable, pre-recording devices era.
At the time of this writing, Beneath the Planet of the Apes is available for streaming from HBOmax and various other VOD services.

Evil aliens attack Earth and set their terrible "Plan 9" into action. As the aliens resurrect the dead of the Earth, the lives of the living are in danger.
IMDb
In case you didn’t guess, Plan 9 from Outer Space is Whitney’s pick. (Remember, her first pick was The Killer Shrews (1959) for episode 45.) She watched this as a teenager and was rendered speechless by how many things Wood did that are filmmaker no-nos. Even though she was astounded in a bad way, she still thinks the film is a riot. Plan 9 from Outer Space was recommended to Chad by friends. He was originally dumbfounded wondering how the film got made and with Bela Lugosi, no less. Now he has fun watching its magic. Daphne encountered Plan 9 from Outer Space in the 99-cent VHS bin at her local thrift store and immediately loved it for its unintentional camp. Jeff doesn’t get the film’s “the worst movie ever made” label because he’s seen a lot of movies that were worse than Plan 9 from Outer Space. He was amazed by the persistence and the audacity (or was it cluelessness?) of those involved in making a film that in spite of its many faults, or maybe because of them, is so much fun.
The Classic Era Grue Crew highly recommends Plan 9 from Outer Space. Seriously! It is currently available to stream on the Classic Sci-Fi Movie Channel and a variety of other streaming services.

A solitary and strange preteen boy wreaks revenge on his harassers when he makes a disturbing discovery in the depth of a forest.
IMDb
The Pit is Bill’s pick and he describes it as a fascinating mess of a movie that epitomizes that certain something indicative of low-budget, Canadian horror movies of the time. Crystal loves The Pit because it is so cringy and gross, adding that the hypersexual kid is disgusting yet compelling. The Pit would’ve been loved by 15-year-old Chad but it is a tough watch for him now, especially with the annoying kid as the main character. Jeff agrees that The Pit is a bit of a mess and doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be, citing how the music often doesn’t fit the scene.
